Busy Weekend for the Friars

Varsity - The Friars welcome CCL's De La Salle as well as Nazareth Academy to the Lawless Gymnasium Fri. Dec. 28. The Meteors don't have the numbers in their program they once did, but they consistently bring state champion caliber competition wherever they go. Nazareth has been a program on the rise in recent years, earning their first individual state championship last season. Last year the Roadrunners fell to the Friars in a close dual, and this year should be a close one as well.

Frosh/Soph - Today the Friars travel to New Lennox to compete in the Providence Catholic Tournament. Last year we had numerous place winners including one champion. This year, Dominic Daly (98), Declan Costello (106), Matt Mrozek (113), Kevin Latz (132), Mike Perez (138), Mike Smyla (145), RJ Klinke (152), and Peter Uzokwe (160) look to follow up last years performance. 12/28 the Frosh travel to Gordon Tech for a second day of tournament action, while the sophs join the JV and Varsity at home.

***** UPDATE*****
Congratulations Mike Smyla for taking taking 2nd at todays tournament! Freshman Declan Costello also placed 3rd with a win by fall over Donald Triche of Providence. (Mike Perez 4th, Dominic Daley 4th)
